The Thing Everyone Forgets

From Seth Godin’s ChangeThis manifesto: “The new tools of social media don’t work when you just spend money on them, they work when they inspire passion in people (real people). And that passion is generated
by great products and visionary leadership.”

No such thing as price pressure

No such thing as price pressure

Your sales force and your customers may scream that you need to lower your price.

It’s not true. You need to increase your value. If people don’t want to pay, it’s because you’re not delivering enough value for the money you’re charging.

You’re not selling a commodity unless you want to.

Seth Godin posts today about Price:

Your sales force and your customers may scream that you need to lower your price. It’s not true. You need to increase your value. If people don’t want to pay, it’s because you’re not delivering enough value for the money you’re charging.

You’re not selling a commodity unless you want to.

Jeffrey Gitomer has been making this point for years. If it comes down to just Price, then you haven’t sold the Value. If you can’t sell the Value of your service, then you are an order taker. Selling is a learning process. Get some tapes and books and develop better selling skills. It will increase your own value.
