Offline Marketing
Not all marketing is online. For many local businesses, the majority of their marketing is offline – or in the real world (as opposed to the virtual one on the Internet).
Offline marketing includes old media – billboards, radio, TV, and print media (newspapers and magazines).
Offline marketing in print media today often means buying an ad for a publication, then having a story written about your company to appear adjacent your ad. (Magazines are famous for that).
Offline marketing also includes the following:
- signs
- door hangars
- direct mail
- canvassing and door knocking
- direct sales also known as cold calling
- call centers
- referral system, VARs and Channel Agents
- Guerrilla Tactics (which the Marketing Idea Guy is pretty good at)
and just about anything else in the physical world.
Offline marketing includes your appearance of the physical store and your employees. Lighting plays a part. Since marketing is every touch of the marketplace, it encompasses many items that you may not even think about.
